Alongside our fresh mushrooms, Cedar Roots is developing a focused cultivation side built around a small number of core strains. Instead of offering a broad generic catalog, we are building a smaller, more deliberate collection of cultures and supplies shaped by direct growing experience, careful selection, and a disciplined approach to cultivation.

Blue Oyster, Lion's Mane, Black Pearl King Oyster, Chestnut, and Pioppino form the backbone of both our farm and our cultivation offering. Our liquid cultures begin on a honey-based medium prepared with honey harvested in the Ottawa Valley through our sister operation, Atomic Apiaries. While this is only one part of the process, it reflects something central to how we work: a preference for local inputs, thoughtful methods, and systems of care designed to support consistency over time.
